Jen Magnus
Dr. Jen Magnus has obtained a Doctorate of Business Administration: Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University. She scored in the top 15% of her Doctoral class and was placed on the Golden Key International Honour Society.Â
Dr. Magnus was previously employed as a police officer with the Calgary Police Service for 14 years. She worked as both a Constable and an Acting Sergeant in various areas of the police. Her experience included investigating criminal complaints, investigating internal workplace complaints, advocacy for civilian and police members, liaising with community members, mentoring junior officers, and researching, instructing, and training on special projects for the Calgary Police Service.
Dr. Magnus has conducted workplace investigations; advocacy for those facing workplace-related issues; held training sessions on trauma-informed interviewing for police officers and those wishing to become workplace investigators; trained groups on understanding harassment, bullying, and sexual harassment; trained on how to conduct workplace investigations; and completed research related to gender issues in policing.
Dr. Magnus is currently involved in various community volunteer roles. She sits as on the Board of Governors at Mount Royal University (MRU) and is part of the Human Resource and Academic Committee. Dr. Magnus is a member of the High River RCMP Police committee, where she acts as a liaison between Town Council, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the citizens of High River.
